IRENE “I-SHEA” SHAIKLY
Hailing from the Boogie Down BX to little “Dominican Republic/Eastern Europe” Washington Heights NYC to Amherst, MA; this mama, emcee, poet, percussionist, dancer, singer, actress, youth worker, and teacher is a two flavored cocktail bringing that original Ashkenazi Jew Dominican flava a.k.a “Original Jewminican” to quench that thirst for bridging cultural differences. Born in the end of the 70’s decade and transitioning into the Reagan era, this multi-faceted artist and performer brings power into her words infusing her world of old school salsa and merengue, reggae and hip hop as a way to spread a message of peace, solidarity, and non-tolerance in unjust policies.
Enter the vision, exit the assumption. I-SHEA brings it to you live and direct sharing music and/or stages with underground emcees/musicians, cultural workers, and/or superstars: Common, Charles Neville (from Neville Brothers), Sean Price, EdO.G., Earatik Statik, Gokh bi System, Tableek from Maspyk
