Jay Mankita

Artist / Creative (Individual)

Jay Mankita's concerts are intimate and hopeful, irreverently funny, and musically refreshing. A masterful guitarist, his music is steeped in tradition, while playfully breaking the musical rules. In addition to his adult touring, he also presents educational concerts and workshops on health and the environment for children. He has recorded 6 CDs, most recently, ‘Eat Like A Rainbow”, a Parents’ Choice award winner, with the title track now featured on ‘Picnic Playground’, the new release from Putumayo Kids, heard in over 100 countries. Jay has performed his original works in well over 1000 venues throughout the Northeast. Folk legend Pete Seeger called Jay, "one of the half-dozen best songwriters today”. Jay mostly performs solo, and provides his own equipment which includes a sound system and projector for his multi-media shows.
