Jeff Olmsted

Artist / Creative (Individual)

Jeff Olmsted is a composer and songwriter.  His Folk-opera "The Surprizing Work of God" had a staged reading at Bombyx in January 25. It tells a story about Jonathan Edwards, the fire-and-brimstone preacher who inspired the "First Great Awakening", the wave of religious enthusiasm that swept the Connecticut Valley and the rest of the American colonies in the 1730's and 40's.

Jeff's musical "Tar2f!" was premiered by the Silverthorne Theater in 2018 (book, music and lyrics by Jeff-from Moliere's "Tartuffe").

Jeff is a long-time church musician, and the director of Valley Jazz Voices, the area's only community choir focused on the jazz repertoire.
