Nataraj Dancers

Performing Group

Nataraj Inc., a non-profit cultural and educational organization was established in 1982 to promote an appreciation and understanding of performing arts of India in United States. Based in the Pioneer Valley in western Massachusetts, but with our roots in India, the organization has become an integral part of the multicultural arts programs in the State and within the South Asian community. Under the artistic direction of Ranjanaa Devi, Nataraj maintains a dance company that presents concerts and teaching residency programs of classical, folk and dance-theater by the Nataraj Dancers. Nataraj Dancers have been on the Massachusetts Cultural Council Touring Artist Roster since 1984. Nataraj has been officially been recognized as the premier South Asian Cultural Enrichment Resource organization by the Five Colleges, Inc. for its unique and innovative programming that continues to build artistic bridges between the East and West. Nataraj offers classes during the academic year and sessions during the summer. Nataraj Dancers also collaborate with other artists to present new work in performance.
