Ohketeau Cultural Center

Community Service Organization

Ohketeau is the Nipmuc word for a place to plant and grow. The Ohketeau Cultural Center serves as a place of creation and growth; where ideas will be born, nurtured, and lived out. Not only does this space allow for creative projects, but it is a safe haven for Indigenous community. The space will contain a meeting room, kitchenette, accessible bathroom, and currently has a shared gallery space that can be used for creative projects, as well as providing an extra sleeping area. Each event that takes place in this space will help to cultivate learning and growth. From traditional workshops such as regalia and drum making; all the way through to contemporary performances with Indigenous focus. Ideally, this space is one that people feel they can turn to, free from institutional bonds.Ohketeau is a place of collaboration and learning for all of our people. The variety of classes and worshops offered includes tanning, herbalism & medicine, weaving and more. More information on our workshops coming soon.
