STRAW DOG WRITERS GUILD, INCORPORATED

Guild / Union / Professional Association

The mission of Straw Dog Writers Guild is to support the writing community in Western Massachusetts by strengthening, engaging, and connecting writers at all levels of development. We formed in 2010 as a non-profit volunteer organization dedicated to the craft and transformative power of writing, designed to serve writers by promoting individual growth, community outreach and enrichment, and community building.

Programs include craft workshops, open mics and readings, writing residencies, the Emerging Writer Fellowship, scholarships, networking, and social gatherings.

Straw Dog's latest project is the WriteAngles Writers Conference, to be held on April 6, 2024 at the Northampton Center for the Arts at 33 Hawley Street in Northampton. It's a day-long event with a keynote (Honoree Jeffers!) and a full day of panels, roundtable discussions, and workshops, culminating in an open mic. Full program and registration details are at www.writeanglesconference.com.
